Philippe Aird
A contemporary artist who was based in Manchester. As a child he was taught by LS Lowry, a family friend and shown various drawing and painting techniques by Harold Riley.
He attended Chelsea School of Art from 1980 to 1983, having won a scholarship on the grounds of exceptional talent. During his time there he won the 1st Time Out international Video Festival award and featured in a BBC ‘forty Minutes’ documentary.
Philippe strived to reflect the natural forces at work in nature, inspired by micro and macro images from the human body and from the cosmos.
