Neil Andrews

Neil Andrews is an architect with a practice in Clitheroe.  He paints in oils and sculpts stone.  Neil has lived in North West England all his life. His art is inspired by his love of the coast and countryside of Lancashire and Cumbria.

Neil’s oil paintings use impasto and palette knife techniques to bring a sense of nature, the landscape and the power of the weather and to evoke the spirit of these places in texture and colour.

His sculptures use ‘hard’ stones such as metamorphic and igneous rocks from Cumbria and Scottish Highlands. He works with the inherent character of the stones, combining polished and tooled surfaces with playful and characterful shapes.
